GOODNIGHT - (34 min)
Jae Man Joo creates dances with powerful stillness and imagery evocative of Asian paintings and architecture. Joo’s latest work Goodnight takes its inspiration from a famed 15th-century painting, “Dream Journey to the Peach Blossom Land” created in the early Korean Joseon period by celebrated landscape painter, An Gyeon.
The painting depicts a utopian world, shrouded in beauty and tranquility that acts as a muse for Joo’s choreography. Goodnight is about finding inner peace through stillness and the imaginative brush stroke of fluid and emotional painting.
